Double Crochet Color Switch

Here's an easy way to switch colors, with no knots. This can be used whether crocheting in rows or in the round. It can be used this in the middle of a row or at the end of the row for stripes (the new row will begin in the new color). I also use this technique if I run out of yarn in the middle of a project and need to add more yarn of the same color.

All you do is begin a double crochet stitch normally, then when you get to the end of the stitch when you have only two loops left on the hook, yarn over in the new color and complete the stitch by pulling the new color through the two loops.

Watch the video at the bottom of the page for a demonstration.
